beautiful but could be better designed and manufactured

Nice looking headlights when installed and lit but how difficult it is to drill the holes required for wiring. They had to be connected to a single power wire and use a screw mount for ground. These are low current LED bulbs so they should have a smaller wire. Because there are two separate wires coming out the back and spaced about 1/4 inch apart with no cutout in the back of the mount, it takes painstaking drilling of holes to make them flush. You'll either have to drill two small holes for the mounting screws and one large hole for the two wires that are over 1/4 diameter, or like me maybe more work to do but you had limited metal space to work with. c for the attachment in which 4 holes were drilled, all the same size, theo for attachment screws and two in the middle for each wire. But that in itself was tedious because you have to make sure the holes line up with the wires coming out of the bracket as they can't really be adjusted. It's a good idea for a fabricator, if they want to proceed with this design, to possibly include a hole pattern for a few different patterns that can be drilled. I ended up making one myself, again a more tedious job. In general, they could be better designed and manufactured. But after installation and lighting definitely look good. They are bright. I'm happy with them, just need patience to install.

Pros
  • This surface mount LED downlight has 2 holes, one in each. Due to the placement of the wires and the installation of the yellow lights, you will need to drill holes for the screws AND allow the wires to surface. The screw holds both the back and the lens cap, making it sealed and waterproof. Also, mounting them vertically makes them more visible than mounting them horizontally.
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
