Why did I buy this you ask? My partner asked the same question. I, like many people, buy a "barebones" computer and later upgrade it. My mood has improved lately. Most people think my motherboard has onboard sound, why should I? For the same reason, there's a difference between a computer that's fine and one that becomes extraordinary with updates like this. The sound quality of this card is truly phenomenal. Lows, highs and everything in between sound amazing. Now I'm going from the built-in sound with the Asus X470. There's just no comparison. The software I downloaded from their website is extremely intuitive and easy to use. The only downside is that it prompts for registration towards the end of the software installation. Well there is no problem. It then goes to a screen asking if I want to use a dial-up connection. WTF. Was it a mistake? Finally, it looks great in my case. I have a translucent case and I see a bright red glow and it's bright! I cannot recommend this update enough. This is money well spent in every way - gaming and entertainment.
