We currently have three of these battery powered AM/FM retro pocket radios with headphones. We use them when we walk the dog or work around the property. In our urban area we can receive a lot of free radio. We use rechargeable batteries and we have disposable batteries. This block works well with any of them. Sounds good without headphones. There are controls (volume and channel) on either side of the radio and there is also a slider for switching between AM/FM. The volume is also an on-off switch. It's better than the others in sound and just as good or better in size, but worse in headphone wire placement. With a side cable entry, so it won't fit in a shirt pocket unless the pocket is large and barely fits the radio. The presence of an antenna means that the headphone cable is not used as an antenna and it works well without earphones. MANUFACTURER. If you're reading this, put the handset on the radio so it fits in your pocket. Then it's 5 stars.
