(written originally 2-9-16)They have a nice glow, are safe around my kitties, even have the waxy feel and smell. The flicker isn't as natural as another brand I'd tried, but these have more color options and seem to be using less battery power (of course I may just have chosen the battery saving option of "on" or "off" v.s. "remote" as I had done with former candles.) Haven't tried the timer feature yet but could be fun to experiment.UPDATE (2-26-16)I liked the look, feel, and even waxy smell of these candles. I set them to "on" or "off" to save batteries. That seems to help. My big issue with them is they have probably too many color options and because of this there seems to be something strange happening spontaneously to darken my pleasant yellows or cheery soft white lights into deep hellish "red light district" reds. I don't like the red setting. It's probably my least favorite choice. It doesn't matter how many times I select another color remotely or turn it off and back on. The candles now seem to have minds of their own. Maybe there are shorts in some of the wiring. I don't know. I was about to order a set of at least 2 more to cover all the house windows, but I am having second thoughts. I wonder if the company can fix this problem or has heard of it happening. The candles seem otherwise handy and do work. Maybe if I could get ones that don't have color options this wouldn't be able to happen. If I could get free replacements for my 6 candles for ones that just light up a soft yellowish, off-white flicker, I would be satisfied.
