Review on QUWEI Crankcase Valve Breather 11157532649 by Gary Ferguson

Worked well for my 2003 BMW 525i Touring

I think what people worry about most with these off brand parts is long term quality. I replaced the entire CCV system myself on my 2003 525i Touring. the old system including the oil separator was (without exaggeration) torn to pieces, as I found out during the repair. However, I was able to find that the OEM oil separator (however old and damaged) was made of thicker plastic than the one I replaced it with (Quwei kit). That said, this Quwei model fitted neatly (the oil separator was a bit difficult to attach, but it did fit) and the hoses (which didn't seem very thick) went in or - thank goodness - with no problems. - Signs of damage. I've been very careful with everyone, but you still have to put pressure on them. BE SURE to apply some silicone spray to the O-rings. This allows them to snap into place with almost no resistance. I priced these same genuine BMW parts from another source and got about $240 total for four hoses and an oil separator. This set cost me $40. My engine went from a very rough idle to purring like a kitten (as they say). I really couldn't believe the difference replacing the old worn out parts made. Since I had never done this task before (replacing the CCV), it took about four hours. I played around a bit and really took my time to fix things. I didn't remove the manifold, which made things a bit more difficult. But in reality it was not a very difficult repair. And these parts seem to be of decent quality and fit well. Four Stars: The parts fit well, but the plastic feels a little less tight (although not too bad) than the OEM
