They are very durable. My 1 year old came up to them and threw them across the room and chewed on one but we were able to save them all because they are very very difficult to break unlike any other crayons we have ever used. We reduced this gum a bit and my eldest son still uses it. We've had these 8 months and they're all only 3/4 alive and well. The only problem I've had is that it's very difficult to get them to show color when they're cold (like when it's cold in the house). Like developing a hard outer layer. I take them and trace them on paper before my son uses them. A little expensive for pencils. But the color and durability are top notch. Update - a year and a half later and my boys are still coloring with the same crayons on a daily basis. Incredibly strong and durable! The paper peels off easily and then the color transfers to the fingers, but not from the fingers to the clothes, leather couch or whatever, so I don't mind. I'm really impressed with how long they lasted. And the hard outer layer I described is now completely gone - so a very good colored pencil. Would buy again.
