Despite the following installation steps of the manufacturer for this cooler, I came very close to killing my CPU or even my motherboard. Scanning the included QR code, which takes you to the manufacturer's website to view the installation process, doesn't tell you how hard to tighten the thumbscrews. There is only animation with a screwdriver showing that you really have to use it, but they don't tell you how tight it should be. I can't say I used excessive force by tightening it with my fingers. When I was done with the screwdriver, I basically tightened it from 12:00 to 3:00 until the screw would not turn. After a few moments, I looked at the processor while the fans were not yet on the heatsink and noticed silicon being pushed out of the base of the processor. I immediately loosened the screws and continued with the installation. I was 90% sure that I killed my CPU with this cooler due to lack of proper instructions, but to find out I just had to finish it. The good news is that everything works. Despite Ryzen's typical temperature fluctuation of 30 to 50°C, I haven't noticed any really negative effects so far. I have used several coolers from other brands and have never encountered anything like this. If the silicon has separated from the crystal, this is a clear sign that the cooler is too tight. Only time will tell if this will affect performance or something in the future, but it's really something that will continue to bother me. I can only say that I would like to use a different brand.
