Works but must be with pins.
We only left the canopy open to catch a strong gust of wind. Luckily this part was the only broken part. We didn't give it a 5 star rating because it didn't have a pin - I wish we had been offered that option. We used the best available nuts and bolts from a local hardware store. Unfortunately this is not optimal.
