The main reasons I bought this device was its efficiency (EER=12) and the noise level. I am very satisfied with both the performance and the silence. All you hear is the fans making a nice white noise. The compressor runs very quietly and it's hard to tell if it's running or not. The device has a good design and its appearance does not spoil the look of my conference room. I have a window behind the projection screen so I was able to hide the hoses very well. I want the fans to idle when the unit reaches the desired temperature, but they keep running incessantly. The device also has no way of displaying the temperature in the room. You only see the set temperature. A dual limb system makes a world of difference by eliminating the negative air pressure created by single limb systems that push warm air from other rooms or outside into the room you want to cool. .This is my fourth portable AC unit and by far the best. I am very happy with my purchase. Upgrade after 2 years of use Unfortunately I had to deduct 2 stars because the device didn't last longer than 2 years. I noticed that the compressor cut off before the desired temperature was reached. So I decided to keep researching. When I removed the back cover I noticed a terrible amount of corrosion. So I knew the device had reached the end of its useful life. That's a shame, because the device was quiet and worked very well for 2 years. But I expected it to last longer. The device was operated in a low-humidity location for one year. I wish it was built better. I replaced it with another dual tube from Whynter (ARC-143MX). This cools down much faster, but is very loud compared to the ARS 122DS. I hope it lasts
