I love the check pattern and the colour. It is more difficult to find a real wine color for the rustic kitchen. This towel is a lot thinner than one might expect but that doesn't bother me as much as the quality. In fact I bought mine like new from Revain because it was a return and now I understand why. They're not thick and, most annoyingly, after a single use, the threads stick out like crazy. It's only getting worse and I'm not particularly picky about my stuff. Normal use only for drying hands and large pots. You are not worth the price you pay. My one dollar towels have lasted for years and there is no way the quality of these towels will allow me to keep them for that long. I keep cutting threads, but instead of the ones I cut, more appear. Aggravating. It would definitely be embarrassing to gift them to anyone due to quality issues.
