I bought 24 of these to build a bookshelf. The included accessories (wall anchor and long drywall screw) come in handy when you want to mount it on the wall. I was attaching to a pine that was wall mounted so I had to buy some stainless steel screws. The key to a stacked bookcase is even spacing. You can't do it by measuring every position. There are always slight deviations. Take a piece of wood and pre-drill holes in it where you want it, as if you were mounting on that piece of wood. Then use this piece of wood as a template. Starting from the bottom shelf, place the template on the shelf when installed and drill the pre-drilled holes to put the screws in the other side when you remove the template. Also known as a bracket, this pattern gives your shelves even spacing and a beautiful appearance. It doesn't matter if you actually place 11 1/16 in instead of 11 as long as each shelf is evenly spaced relative to the one below. bottom shelf (there are holes for this). This is a tight fit. There are many ways to support a bookshelf, this is one of them. I like the effect. Brackets can give you a clean look without the need for precise wood joints, which is another way to get the job done.
