WARNING! possible peanut allergen!

I was happy to buy this product because of the many great reviews. When it arrived I did as suggested and tried the product on a small hidden spot on our leather sofa to make sure the product didn't stain the leather. It's not like this. I also thought it wise to carefully browse their website for helpful tips. Then I came across information that this product (Leather Milk #5) should not be used by people with nut allergies. I immediately emailed the company for more information on allergies (as suggested on the website) and explained that my grandson has a severe peanut allergy and if they could let me know if the product contained peanut products . Now I know that peanuts aren't actually nuts, but most people don't know that and I obviously needed to double check. They responded quickly, the rep said they use some nut butters in their products but she has no idea about peanuts. She directed me to another page on her website that contained "safety data". I immediately went to this site, but there was no information about allergens. So I emailed again. This time, another representative responded by stating that they could not release this information because "our recipes are secret, like Coca-Cola's recipe"! She also advised me not to use her product for safety reasons. So here's what I learned from talking to this company: (1) They don't understand the difference between Coke and something that can send someone to the ER with life-threatening symptoms -- it's not just my grandson, it's everyone else. a guest with a peanut allergy who visits our house, as well as all persons with whom he has physical contact. Multiplied by the number of households and businesses that can use this product. Serious?! Like Coke? This is no joke. (2) If this product does NOT contain peanut products, why don't they just say so? Peanut allergies are so common (1 in 50 children) that this company recklessly refuses to disclose whether or not their product may harm people. I'm just shocked and confused. If you are considering using this company's products, consider whether your leather products will ever come into contact with someone who is allergic to peanuts, or could come into contact with someone you know has peanut allergies is allergic. (For those of you unfamiliar with peanut allergies, you don't have to eat peanut products to get a reaction, just rub your eyes, nose, or mouth with it. For example, you might have peanut products on your hands after shaking hands.. .). Simply inconsiderate by this company! Okay - I won't be buying from them anymore (I'll have to throw out what I've already bought!), but what if someone with a peanut allergy visits your home or office? Again, if Leathermilk doesn't have peanut products, why not just say so? Well I'm so pissed!
