Review on Enhanced V-Trail 2.0 Trail Running Shoes for Men by Vibram FiveFingers by Moises Dzihic

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Unreliable - Trail Running

I used to love my Five-Fingers, but over time they've worn out due to the intense off-road training I enjoy. My old pair lasted a surprisingly long time. But they only lasted about 6 months before punctures appeared on the inside tissue of both thumbs. I believe this is due to a design change and bug that causes the big toe arch to not expand sufficiently in and around the big toe curve, allowing the fragile upper fabric to contact the tread. If this can be fixed in future versions, the durability will be much higher and the shoe will surely earn more stars and new and returning customers. At the moment I've switched to Altra shoes with zero drop and less cushioning and have some barefoot running dynamics. I prefer the Vibram experience, but Altra is a viable alternative. I would not recommend trail slip-on running shoes from Merrell (Trail Glove) or New Balance (Minimus). They are unpadded, have low durability, and don't feel "barefoot" compared to Vibram Five-Fingers. So you have all the downsides of Vibram, but you lose the freedom of Vibram's hinged fingers. It's better to add some cushioning to the Altra zero-drop sneakers and get a durable shoe.

  • Decent Performance
Cons
