This lock is good enough for its purpose. If someone wanted to steal the helm—God knows why—it would serve as a deterrent. And the price is great. Cons: 1) the cord can literally be 1-2 inches longer, 2) the key/keyhole doesn't fit the best (too much fiddling to get it in), and 3) you need a key for the cord to fit in the lock . I have two of these and they work the same way down to the awkward lock. But more than enough.
