When the battery is only partially discharged, the indicator flashes. Since I had the additional lighting on, I didn't notice it from the front. When I checked my clips, they all flickered in there. Read other reviews, many have the same problem. The sad part is that this is an easy fix, just plug in an inexpensive adapter. I am returning this item and am receiving something that comes with an adapter that attaches to the shoe for long battery life. In addition, the battery compartment does not close properly, the tab does not "snap" in place, but simply pushes in.
