To protect the new white carpet on the front steps. A bit tricky to install until you get the hang of it. This can be done by one person but is much easier with two people. Start at the bottom, have another person hold the roll, and unroll the product as they walk up the stairs. The first person starts at the bottom and presses the foil onto the carpet as they walk up the stairs. At the same time, another person inserts additional material. Works perfectly.
