Bought three sets of these cords to run in my backyard (40-50 foot gap between house and shed). I first routed the coated steel cables with the bolts tightened and attached light strands to the cables instead of hanging from the cable. lightweight cord to support weight and tension. Connected three strands by combining just one base/receiver. The device syncs with my Smart Life app (Android) and Alexa with minimal fuss (put the device in 'setup mode', the Smart Life app will find it. The Smart Life app will then sync the connection to your connected Alexa App.) Color adjustment and lighting presets in the app are excellent and easy to select. Remember that the initial shipping package does NOT just "unwrap the light" - it involves untangling the entire thread. (Minor issue) While the Alexa voice command can toggle the strings on and off, color and/or scene/action customization is only possible directly within the Smart Life app.
