I like this product and the assembly instructions, except for the general lack of an operating manual for the thermostat. Point 1.7.4 says plug in the cable and it should feel hot. It won't work if you don't put an ice cube on the thermostat for a few minutes. Additionally, the last sentence of paragraph 2.1 states that the pipe should be warm after the switch is installed and turned on, but will not function again until the thermostat is cooled below 37F. Paragraph 1.4.16 states that the thermostat or thermistor to moisture since you suggest this check. They need a paragraph that shows the thermostat and more about how it works and how to test it so people know how to use it. While you're at it, why not make the cold wire longer, say 10 feet, for applications where the heater plug doesn't end directly at the outlet, and keep the thermostat near the plug so it can be checked can if someone suspects that it might not work. This would help people like me not to use an extension cord or hire an electrician to crawl under my house and add an extra outlet for a significant amount of money. Liked the product, but you need to tell the installer the best thermostat instructions. A small sticker on the packaging saying that this cable will not work if the temperature is not below 37 degrees is not enough. Customer service was required to sort this out and I especially appreciated it from someone who was polite and spoke English!
