I like this product and the assembly instructions, except for the general lack of an operating manual for the thermostat. Point 1.7.4 says plug in the cable and it should feel hot. It won't work if you don't put an ice cube on the thermostat for a few minutes. Additionally, the last sentence of paragraph 2.1 states that the pipe should be warm after the switch is installed and turned on, but will not function again until the thermostat is cooled below 37F.
