Great kit - Spares

This Fabtech dual shock setup is really really good. This is not a "real" tire setup as the tires are one piece. This one has a center mount and two bracers, but essentially works as a hoop type setup. Also, the item pictured on the welcome screen for this coil spring product is NOT the item you will receive. It's the one in the product description with the "A-frame" mount. Also read the description as it is black and not fabtech blue. Okay, I always read reviews before buying anything I'm not 100% familiar with and if you're reading this you either know what you do and want from your rig and you're wondering if it's quality enough to bet on , or you are not sure what you want and are looking for offers. I was the first and let me tell you straight away - this kit is for heavy use. I would no longer hesitate to click buy. It took me half a day to install but I like to take my time and teach my boys on the go. Someone like you who knows what they're doing will probably only take a few hours to get it done. Some drilling is required so read the instructions first. I'll talk about that later. You need to move the brake line bracket. It attaches to the inside of the frame with a 1/4" screw. Take the outlet and extension cord and it will come straight out. The instructions say to move forward 1 inch and down 3 inches, but be careful Be careful when doing this as there is a cross member in this area that you may drill too close to put the screw back in. Also, my mount had an eyelet that protruded into the frame so I actually used a 1/4 -" and a 1/2" hole to move them properly. The rear post on each side actually matched the existing triangular hole on my frame perfectly, so I only used a 1/2" bit used to round them off and install. I also had to drill a hole for the front frame post on each side. After that once you have loosened everything according to the instructions you can rotate the support brackets up to the frame and mark the exact spot to drill and then rotate them to the side to drill them in. I had to create additional access through the wheel arch where the upper shocks stick out. The driver had a headache in the back as there were several electrical cables and hoses traveling and many of them were attached to the wheel arch which I tried to cut. Be careful not to cut the lines! Attaching the wrenches to the top of the driver's side wasn't an easy task, so plan to help first. Access to the passenger side was much easier. Also, the bolts on the underside of the shock are very tight, but this can be achieved with the right amount of force using an impact device. One final thought is that of course Fabtech says you should use their shocks in this kit. Of course they should say so. I installed my Bilstein 5100 off-road shocks and they fit perfectly. Of course, if you buy such a cute kit and run low shocks like the ranch, the truck midgets will come to your house and give you flat tires and missing socks. The photos I've attached are of my truck and that's what you get, minus the dents of course. 2005 Ford Excursion (2004 Suspension) with 6" Lifter, 37" Super Swamper SSR and Bilstein 5125. I hope you enjoyed the review. I usually answer questions when I know the answers.
