This handheld mic works well and sounds good enough to use on my cellphone. I used this handheld mic to replace a broken TYT with a similar one. All connections are correct and the microphone works fine, except that it didn't work right away. I hooked it up to my TYT TH-9800 to find out that the impedance of this mic doesn't give the radio the expected readings when certain buttons are pressed. So pressing the 4 button is actually registered as a 1. The same applies to keys 5-9. Unfortunately, I can't enter numbers over 6 with this microphone because the DTMF keys are somehow "distorted" forward. Also, I would like to note that the PTT button didn't work right away. When pressed, the PTT indicator on the PDA lit up as expected, but the radio didn't turn on. I took it apart and compared it to a broken standard mic and found that the standard mic has an impedance of 100 ohms and this one has a PTT impedance of 15k ohms. I had to desolder the old circuit board resistor and replace it with the broken mic resistor to get the PTT to work. Your radio may or may not have this problem, so be weary if you have a TYT radio.
