Save money and do it yourself!

This was for the driver's door of a 2006 Saturn Ion but will likely fit many GM vehicles of the era. I won't repeat what others have said, but it was very easy to install and works great. Look for instructions on YouTube. Additional notes: it is possible to buy a lever part or a motor part separately, but it makes no sense to do so (cost, cost, time). Just buy it as a whole, just like this item. The new product has 4 new mounting screws installed (see standard product image) so after removing the glass you only need to loosen one screw at the end of one arm. (does not come with new items) Unscrew the 4 screws on the door (probably 10mm) and then move everything up and to the left about 2.5cm and it comes out. The screws on the old or new part do not have to be unscrewed completely. Just put a new one in the door, line up the holes and tighten. As each instruction mentions, you have to hold the jar somehow. A plastic door wedge should work, but I ended up with a pair of lever-operated suction cups for supporting/holding panes of glass or mirrors. I simply placed one on the glass and moved it around while slightly raising and lowering it as needed for removal and installation. Also, the window glass is attached to the lift arm with two small pieces of plastic that you may need or want to replace. Gm #21170767 should point you in the right direction. At a popular auction I found an OEM 2 package that shipped for $8.
