Black Widow Scorpion Crayons

I'm by no means a professional artist, but I enjoy painting to ease my anxiety. I've tried different types of coloring but always go back to crayons so I was happy to find these pens with such great reviews at a great price. Since I'm always looking for a bigger range of colors, I decided to try them. These are really high quality pens. They feel firm when you hold them and fit very well. They are packaged in a single layer metal tin which has a thin side but is still great for protecting pens and snapping together. There is a nice color palette on the inside of the lid that matches the actual colors quite well. Inside the tin can is a plastic shell that keeps the pins from moving, the shell itself is flimsy and the more you drag the pins in and out it starts to dent, especially in the bottom corners, nothing major to mine Rating down, but I take the pins out when I use them and put them back when I'm ready to store them so they don't get bent or used. a little more convenient than a round pencil. Color names and serial numbers are clearly printed on each pencil so you don't have to guess what color it is. These are soft core pencils so they blend and layer very well and are surprisingly quite light. It takes a little pressure to get full coverage, especially with light colours. And since they have a soft core, you'll need to sharpen them more often to keep the tip sharp. These 2 factors can cause some pencils to wear out faster, but this is true of all brands of soft tip pencils I've used. I've had no problems with the stem breaking and they sharpen very easily with the Prismacolor sharpener. this set can be changed a little bit: 1. Difficult to get all the pins fully into the slots in the plastic tray so you can read the names of the colors; which doesn't take anything away from the pins themselves, but makes it easier to pick a color without having to pull and twist them a bit so they don't fit the socket all the way. 2. The 2 included pinks (Delicious Pink and Pigs Ear) are very similar in color. They are very nice colors but one is a little lighter and more like bubblegum than the other. I've added a picture where you can see it.& 3. As this is a small set you may need to add more sets depending on what you are working on. I also bought the original Black Widow 24 Pack but haven't tried it yet, so this might be a good solution to this problem. Compared to the Prismacolor Premier pens I would say they are very similar in ability, the prisms are slightly larger. are saturated and require fewer passes over the same area for full coverage. But I feel like the Black Widow Scorpions are a little better matched than the Prisms. Overall this is a fantastic set and I will definitely be buying them again when this set runs out. I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys painting, especially those who want to learn the technique of blending and layering without spending a fortune.
