My long haired Syrian hamster Russell LOVES these horizontal wheels but the largest size disappoints me. We have our third properly used and well maintained 12" flying saucer wheel in as many months and I think it will sadly be our last. The first bike we had was the smallest variant I've bought since. This is what Russ used when I adopted him and it came out unscathed. He outgrew it so we went to the next size, same story. But when we ordered this largest size, the first one cracked on delivery (not the manufacturer's fault). but uncomfortable) and the second was noticeably warped when it arrived and suddenly ripped during a scheduled cleaning two months later. If you are looking at small or medium sizes then I would give them a *high* rating and five stars! They're basically silent, durable, easy to maneuver around for daily spot cleaning, offers nice extra protection (Russ loves to nest behind his, especially medium-sized caster, which he doesn't do with his vertical caster), perfectly safe for little ones Toes and I couldn't be happier with them But the largest size is noisy, badly broken, harder to clean and too expensive for the short lifespan. I decided to go ahead and buy one last wheel while trying to find a good alternative as I know he will use and enjoy it. I'm also giving it three stars because it really is Russell's favorite wheel. And if it works, I'll give it a five. However, I cannot recommend it due to its short lifespan.
