The material is dense. There are two pockets, the back is really just for the phone. It's pretty roomy. I can fit my phone, wallet, sunglasses, lip balm, headphones and keys in it, and there's some extra room for maybe a granola bar or a small snack. I've reviewed some of the more stylish fanny packs but my main purpose is to use them for walking and jogging although I've used them at a few outdoor events and they don't look weird at all with a cute outfit. Perfect.
