In 2010 I bought three NEXTGEN 1000 watt ballasts for $399 each. It's amazing how much these things cost now. However. I recently started waxing again and after a few weeks one of the nextgens stopped working. So I did a little research and settled on Quantum 1000 Watts. I wasn't expecting much because they are cheap now, but when they arrived I was pleasantly surprised. I bought two of these because I like to have a backup when it comes to my lighting and garden. First thing I did was run both and tested before installing. Everything was good. First impressions are that these ballasts offer good value for money. And they come with a three-year guarantee. They appear to be built like tanks, look good, are almost completely silent, and run cooler than what they replaced. They're dimmable (which I don't care) so if that's what you're into, they work great. Another good thing is that they come with both 120 and 240 volt cords. I will come back and give another review after spending a few hours on it. But for $150 with a three-year warranty, I don't see how I could be wrong.
