This was easy to install even though there were no written instructions. We had an unexpected, urgent 3,000 mile drive and needed to get going as soon as possible right after we received the camera/monitor, so we did a quick emergency install by installing the camera at the base of the center red marker light on the top part of the back of our trailer (we reset the red marker and use a Furrion camera mount to mount it under the light as trailers that wide should have all three red lights). We removed the red cover, unscrewed the base, got access to the cables, connected the camera to the cable that came with the camera (we shortened it a bit and routed the cable through the center of the base where the bulb was) , then replace the base, screw the camera mount into the base and seal everything with marine grade silicone. We then connected the trailer to our truck, turned on the lights, pressed the red button on the monitor's power supply, and voila! - Everything went well. This setup wasn't pretty, but it worked well and was done quickly. If your trailer is already camera-ready, it's pretty much plug-n-play (I've seen other reviews where you might need to ask the seller for some sort of adapter, but I think it actually comes in the box that we have received). .) The only thing is that the fan base we received for the monitor was defective, but we emailed the seller through Revain, got a very quick response, and they sent us a replacement base PLUS a suction cup base sent for assembly. issued - both free Great product, great customer service. We like to use it while driving on the freeway and haven't had any connectivity issues. Our trailer is about 27 feet long and is pulled by a Ford F150. We like it for backups too, but we still use observation and back up slowly to avoid side blind spot mishaps and also because we're still getting used to finding out how far we're behind relative to one another. to what we see on the monitor. The view, like most security/rearview cameras, is a bit lazy so it takes some getting used to too. We also found it really handy to be able to instantly check if our trailer lights were still on (during the day when it's difficult to see the trailer lights from the truck) because if you have your lights on and the monitor is on it will Camera image is only displayed if your trailer plug provides a good connection. This has proven to be very useful as we accidentally left the trailer plug unplugged once before purchase and once after purchase. When the trailer broke before we bought it, we only knew about it because people started honking our horns. We noticed this immediately after the purchase, because the monitor went off. We love this product and doubly love the seller's customer service. (The last two photos we uploaded - showing the trailer/shed and fence - are for spatial reference only of what is visible on the monitor). BTW I believe this camera system also has the possibility to add another camera, so if you want to add a camera on the side light to conveniently check the side view of your trailer (this requires special bases I believe), that's possible. but don't quote me on that - check with the vendor to see if this feature is of interest to you.
