It's as easy as a butt connection. Simply select the appropriate connector, insert it into the socket of the same color on the tool and crimp. I just needed a quick connection for an electronics project that wouldn't be exposed to the elements, so I skipped the heat gun process and it works great. I might come back later and hit it with a heat gun, but for now it does the job. The tool is durable and the crimping force can be adjusted. It's a ratchet system, so just push until it disengages. Works perfectly!
