I bought one of these to connect to an old TV. It works as intended and plays my Mp4 files. It doesn't come with batteries for the remote control or an HDMI cable, but that's not a problem. I use the AV cable that came with it and it works well enough for me. When I first turned on the Atom, I noticed that the image was slightly blurry and enlarged. I went into the video settings and changed it from PAL to NTSC, now the picture is clear and fits well. The reason for my 4 star rating is that the audio is unusually quiet. Even with the Atom sound maxed out, I usually have to turn the TV volume up to 70% or higher to hear the video clearly. I haven't tried the HDMI cable to see if the sound is different. Maybe a firmware update can fix the sound in the future. There are many options for videos, including subtitles, different types of video formatting, and looping. media players.
