Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance UPS Network Management with APC AP9630 Card 2 by Kristine Black

Revainrating 1 out of 5

So far so good, but.

Finally got around to installing them in two UPS units at work. The utility that was supposed to find the Network Management Card could not find it. The card's default IP address, 192.168.1.5 (mask 255.255.255.0), was on a different subnet than our local network (192.168.0.x). We had to (manually) reset the IP address on one of the network computers to 192.168.1.200 (from 192.168.0.200) before the computer could "see" the Network Management Cards. After that, we could use the browser to view and change map settings. We found that the IP addresses on the cards were 192.168.1.5, although the manual says the card is configured by default to use DHCP to obtain an IP address. Once we were able to interact with the cards, we reset the IP addresses etc. to addresses on our 192.168.0.x network. There is still work to do to tweak the settings, but a lot of time has been spent messing around with the network issue.
