Installation. I attached the base to the vent with a clamp. Lightweight and very durable. Then I connected the holder to the base and tightened it. The mount is adjustable so you can maneuver for the best viewing angles. Connected to Phone - The mount has a padded back and grips on the sides to protect your phone. Putting the phone on the mount and clamping is done smoothly. There is a button on the side to release the handle. Switching from portrait to landscape mode was seamless and my iPhone X has an Apple leather case that easily handles the weight. What I found to be a really nice feature is the distance between the phone and my vent, it was about 2-3 inches closer which made it easier to see the map app I had while driving. In addition, the room allowed the supply air to circulate better. I've used this phone on my GTI, which has a grittier, rockier ride, and my wife's Highlander, which is smoother and works great on both machines. I really like this mount.
