Review on πŸš— Monroe 911523 Reflex Monotube Shock Absorber: Advanced Performance for Smooth Ride by Rafael Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My old Jeep drives like a Cadillac now and feels a lot better.

I have a 2000 WJ with an Up Country lift that was stock. These shock absorbers fit this model. My shock absorbers were still original with 143,000 miles and 16 years ago when I first bought the car. I had no idea how worn they were until the fronts started rattling. Of course, for me, these new shocks made a huge difference in terms of ride quality. My old Jeep drives like a Cadillac now and feels a lot more stable. A few things: The factory front shocks only come with 1 bushing or pad. It's black rubber. These replacement parts come with two. One is installed on top of the wheel arch where the old one was. The other comes from below, sitting on top of the damper. The body is clamped between two rubber things. There are no installation specs so I called MONROE and asked about it. There is also no torque specification. Just tighten the front pieces as tight as possible. Another question for AMAZON. I ordered 4 shockers. Got 1 in the front and 1 in the back. A few days later came another front and back. Shock absorbers are installed in pairs. Two at once. It doesn't make sense that we're going to be hit individually, front and back. You might as well keep one and ship it when the other is available. Send them in pairs. Having only one shock absorber for front or rear is useless until there is another. You can save money by sending fewer packages. .
