4-star recorder suddenly becomes 1-star

The recorder has many nice functions and is easy to use. I like the price and the fact that it can be connected to a computer (the most important aspect for me). However, file transfers eventually stalled and I got "Bad File Format" errors that prevented me from listening to the recordings. files or ever be able to transfer them again. Support said I should reformat the registrar. Files were lost this way (although I was sometimes able to continue listening to recordings on the recorder, once the errors started they continued to worsen and made it impossible to transfer files). In addition, the battery life was found to be short. I have tried many good brands. After several shots, the battery indicator showed that the batteries were almost empty. It was pretty consistent. If the voice recorder works, I like the ease of use. i love folders And the sound isn't that bad, even in the conditions of the hall. Not very good, since voices often sound a bit muffled, while ambient noise seems a bit amplified. Unfortunately, the problem is reliability. Recordings become more valuable than a dictaphone, and if you can't access them or transfer them to your computer, you're doomed to listen to them on a dictaphone (unless it fails). I've looked through a few of them and so have my colleagues. Apparently, the "bad file format" issue occurs quite often. And if your recordings are important I would not recommend buying this product at all (any RCA recorder for that matter as the support team has been less than stellar or helpful). I was going to give this review 4 stars but had to choose 1 (actually I would have given zero) due to lack of reliability. But if you're willing to take the risk and want a cheap recorder with some good features, you can get a recorder that won't let you down. As I said, failure has happened to me too many times and it has cost me a lot.
