My fondest childhood memory was of a drawer in my kitchen cupboards with a sliding metal lid...it was a built in bread bin. I never realized how much I missed this until I had this beautiful lunch box on my countertop. I live in a small country house and sometimes cute mice come to me! I'll put her in a heart trap and let her back into the forest. It's a fun game we play... but often before I catch them, they rip the plastic wrapper off the bread, which I just leave on the counter. For me, it spoils the bread, so I started storing bread in the fridge. I've found that really dry bread is bad for the taste.
