The bread bin came crumpled on one side, but folds back easily without affecting the look and functionality. The box itself is metal, the cut of the box lid is not quite what I expected but still very nice. Keep in mind that the lid is only big enough to slice a bagel. I've had a container storage basket with all our bread products in my closet for so long. Hamburger buns, hot dog buns, bagels, tortillas, and two types of bread filled the basket. While it worked it wasn't exactly for the kitchen and I wanted a bread bin but I need a bigger one. This bread basket is just what I needed. The lid is a bread holder and being tall it does its job without taking up any space on the table. Not only is it big enough for two full loaves of bread, but more can be added.

So we bake our own sourdough bread every week. I was hoping to have a bread bin that I could use to store bread without packaging. Unfortunately the bread was moldy after 5 days. I think the problem was that there wasn't enough air and the box was too humid. So happy I have this! The size is perfect for a small kitchen counter, but at the same time it can withstand so much!
