At first our dog was confused by 3 windows (only one of them is the 'door') so we put a dark 'x' shaped masking tape across the windows on both sides glued Help him show which one was the right one. Once it's better trained we can remove the band - we really like that it has 3 windows - a really nice feature. In general - we like it very much! We have it in a window with an awning over it so I can't comment on how weatherproof it is as it isn't exposed to the elements like a regular window. The magnet is strong and the plexiglass is thick enough to stay in place but soft enough for our dog to easily push through. It's a brilliant invention and we love it when it's away from a window rather than through a door. Highly recommended!
