I have just replaced the hard drives in my laptop and my wife's laptop with Samsung EVO 860 SSDs to try and regain some of the performance lost on a Windows 10 256GB hard drive gone just because they no longer act as boot disks. What to do? Turn them into nearly free external USB drives with this $10 kit (and change) from UGREEN. I ordered two sets. They arrived the next day at my friendly Revain shop next door. To be honest I didn't know what to expect at this price. Received well-packaged cases with 1ft USB 3 cables and clear instructions. I broke my nail trying to take the first one apart. (Tip: The front panel is wrapped in almost invisible transparent tape that holds the slide-out case panel in place, so be sure to remove this tape before disassembling the case.) It takes less than 60 seconds to open and slide out the case it in. Hard drive (or it could be an SSD) and close the case, connect the right end of the cable to the case and connect the USB end of the cable to the computer. Boom, it came like a dream, twice in a row. I plan to use these sealed drives as clones. The backup requires the use of cloning software so that these drives are always ready to be returned to the laptop in case one of the SSDs fails. (Unlikely) These cases are plastic, not aluminum. What do you expect for 10β¬? you are ok with me Any impact that splits the hull will most likely destroy the bard drive inside as well, although the hull has rubber bumpers to provide some level of protection from physical impact. Overall I am very happy with these cases and would recommend them.
