Best straightener I've ever used. Has the usual chemical smell after you're done, but should be less noticeable after the second or third wash. I've tried relaxants that leave a film or make my hair frizzy afterwards and have hurt me more than what I started with. I don't like lye-based relaxants because I use them slowly and find it difficult to keep track of time. I don't have to worry about my hair falling out if I don't stop using it after 5 minutes. Keep in mind that unless your hair is very coarse, you will be shocked at how flat it ends up. If you have curly hair, it naturally gives you volume. You have to wait for your roots to grow back a bit, maybe after a week or so, otherwise use mousse for volume.
