Review on Milton S 217 Style Coupler Plug by Josh Lockhart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There seems to be a difference.

Step in Milton High Power Couplings and Plugs. I agree with other reviewers - the tools feel a bit more powerful and alive. I bought this set because the couplers are brass and the plugs are steel. So far, so good. Everything seems to be working fine. I went with a set of brass connectors and steel plugs as there were several reviews complaining about the durability of the aluminum sets. I also ordered a box of 10 brass connectors to gear up my tools and stay away from the aluminum connectors. Well, on my very first use, the brass plug ripped clean, leaving me with a hose spewing out 150psi of air and whipping around the magazine with a heavy coupler on the end. no fun time A little shopping spree at Revain found the same high flow plugs available in steel. More expensive but now they seem worth the price provided they are more durable than brass and aluminum plugs. TO UPDATE. Figured out what was wrong with the brass connectors. They have a larger diameter hole machined from the threaded end. The problem is that the hole is too deep - in fact, as measured with a digital caliper, the hole goes beyond the start of the groove that the hitch holds onto. That's the problem. The inner diameter of the hole is 0.359. The outer diameter of the groove is 0.379. This means the brass is only 0.02mm thick where the holes meet the groove! Waiting for a breakdown. The supplied steel plugs do not have this problem. If you want to order more plugs for your instruments, I recommend that you forego brass and spend your money on steel plugs.
