The quality of this slip collar is top-notch and I was originally very pleased with my purchase, but on the first or second walk with my dog it actually slipped over his head and came off. The reason for this is that the plastic pieces at the ends of the rope are a little too wide and cause the metal loop to get hung up instead of properly tightening. My father noticed the same thing when walking my dog and even tried to fix the collar by wrapping the plastic in electricians tape to create a smoother surface for the metal ring to slide over, but I’m still having the same problem with it. If you’re paying attention and guide the loop over the plastic piece when putting the collar on your dog, it will work as it’s meant to, but it’s an extra step that I’d rather not have to take. Also, if someone besides me were to walk him with this collar, I’d be nervous that it wouldn’t function properly. Again, the quality is great but I hope the manufacturer will either make the plastic pieces narrower or eliminate them altogether.
