Review on Toshiba SD1200 SD 1200 DVD Player by Antoine Dean

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good DVD player. Worth the price.

I made a mistake by buying a Samsung player that essentially died after 2 months. When looking for a replacement, I noticed that many people say great things about Toshiba brands. So I decided to buy it and hope for the best. Well I have nothing to say but good things. This little player is really light, but don't let that put you off. It played all my DVDs flawlessly and never let me down. The picture is great, the sound too. Some of my discs that have stuck or skipped on a Samsung player work great on Toshiba. It was then that I realized that I had made the right choice. I like the onscreen setup menus, which allow you to see the image of the movie you're watching while you adjust the settings. It's a nice little drop-down menu at the top of the screen with very pretty icons that are easy to understand. Other players (*cough* Samsung *cough*) just turn off the picture and the settings menu takes up the whole screen. You can imagine how tedious it can be to constantly switch between the image and the adjustment screen while fine-tuning the settings. A lot of people complain about the remote control that comes with this player, but I haven't really had any problems with it. That. Any remote that doesn't use that pesky little joystick is fine by me. In fact, Toshiba has the SD-1600 model, which I think is only suitable for club wholesale stores. It's basically the same as this SD-1200 model, but with a better remote control. Try to find this model if the remote is really a problem for you, or just buy a universal remote right here at Revain for a few bucks. This is a good player if you are new to DVD or want to install an inexpensive, reliable system in another room in your house. Toshiba is known for great picture and sound quality, so you can't go wrong with them. As an added bonus, they have a good guarantee on it. It's good to know that if anything should happen, I can have my player repaired for free at my local Toshiba Certified Service Center.
