Here are the full instructions: Have a cup ready. Turn off the water supply. Flush the toilet. First, lift the lever protruding to the right of the cover. While holding the lever up, turn it and the cover counterclockwise to lift and remove. The cap may need to be pushed down when turning. Remove the old gasket. To remove dirt, hold a cup over the spot and briefly turn on the water. Replace the valve seal with the flat side up. To install the cap, align the lever with the water tube, push down (possibly) and turn clockwise. Turn the water supply back on.
