This is the third battery powered wireless camera that I have purchased from IE GEEK. The Cloudedge app is very easy to download and helps me set up my camera including knowing if the Wi-Fi signal is good and where I'm setting it up. (I use iPhone for the app but it says it works on Android too - my experience with the app is from iPhone FYI) There is a place to insert an SD card. and I recently discovered that they also sell solar panels that plug into them and keep the battery charged. They also have a cloud recording service but I couldn't figure out how much it costs or if I would use it instead of an SD card. The main difference would be that I obviously can't see the recordings on my SD card when I'm not at home, but I could if they were written to the cloud. However, when I'm not there, I CAN watch a 20-40 second recorded clip with a motion alert - that seems to tell me whether to worry or not. The app allows you to customize how you want to receive motion notifications (email, text, how often, recording duration, monitoring time). And you can see the live camera image (image from my phone is attached) anytime and anywhere. It immediately alerts me to any movement and I can turn off the notifications with a push of a button in the app - for example if I'm at home and don't want to be alerted every time my dog goes outside, I can turn it off. The images seem clear enough to identify people day and night! Good product and I will update this review in 6 months to let you know about the battery life/solar panel usage.
