I needed a butler's tray that I could put next to my chair so things didn't roll away like a regular TV tray or end table. It meets all requirements. Very attractive. Delivery in two parts. Open the base and place a baking sheet on top. There is a kind of "lip" on which the tray is placed on the base. It's not as strong as a one-piece tray, but it does the trick. I never intended to use the tablet myself. It hasn't fallen off yet and I have several cats. It cannot be used for food. I didn't spill anything on it, but the bottom of the tray feels flimsy and I'm afraid it will warp from heat or spills. A top laptop would be fine, but not heavier. I only have it for papers, pens, glasses and books. I'm happy and the color suits my decor. I recommend it depending on the use.
