Review on πŸ”’ KidCo Angle Mount Metal Safeway Gate: Adjustable White (Metal) Baby & Pet Gate, Top of Stairs, Hinge & Latch Side, Hardware Mounted by Dominique Patel

Closing the gate is like docking a spaceship

Worst installation instructions! If my father would help me who has a super mechanical mindset and berated and berated him during the 3 hour installation of this horrible product. (It took half an hour to cut out the wood and tape it to the railing to create a flat mounting surface.) None of the pieces are individually labeled, and many look the same, so have fun disassembling. They tell you to assemble the gate. Width before hanging loops. I'm going to tell you to attach the hinges first, then adjust the width of the gate and save you twenty minutes of frustration. Also, their turn direction pictures suck, so plan on having two sets of holes in the wall/rail after you have to fix them. : Requires two arms and one leg and is a process similar to docking or docking a spacecraft. I do not recommend this for moderate or heavy traffic areas. We used a $10 wooden gate for the other side with some cabinet hinges and it's a lot more convenient than a Kidco corner gate. The last thing to pay attention to. Our opening is nearly 42 inches with the gate stretching to its widest position. They are very heavy when swinging and put a strain on the free-floating railing/hinge side.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Some flaws
