I'm pretty sure it's just a quality issue as others work fine. My FAN is SO LOUD! After purchasing a used/underperforming PS4 that was laden with dust it struggled to support gameplay and while playing you could FEEL the heat emanating from the machine and it sounded and looked like a jet engine. a way! The original fan was so clogged I had to replace it, no swab of air fixed anything. However, the renovation went smoothly. the new fan is LOUD, not only has a completely different sound. while the inflated original was slowly getting this high-pitched "whine". The new fan has NO curve, works 100% and sounds like something is wrong in my room. which I think is even worse than the sound of the broken original fan. A few positives: Temps are back under control and PS4 is stable. Torx screwdrivers were a nice touch. Verdict: Re-insertion and a new fan is one way to breathe life into a dying PS4, but check the reviews to make sure the fan meets STOCK specs, unless lawn mower noise games are your thing.
