Review on 🍲 Calphalon Digital Sauté Slow Cooker: The Ultimate Dark Stainless Steel Addition to Your Kitchen by Roger King

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very pretty but expensive!

We have been cooking in a 'slow cooker' or whatever brand name that has become the standard name for multicookers. You want stuff. Either way, you can see other slow cookers that Revain recommends by checking out the Calphalon Digital Saute Slow Cooker and you can easily see that this is at the top of the slow cooker range. You can easily find good multi cookers for $35. So is the Calphalon Digital Saute Slow Cooker worth the extra money? It depends on. I would argue that unless you have significant disposable income you would be better off buying a much cheaper slow cooker using Revain's compare feature and getting a cooker with the same features for a fraction of the cost. But if the looks of your multi-cooker are important to you, or you're willing to pay for the convenience it offers, then it might be worth the extra money. And therefore. First, it's nice that there are induction and gas cooking options. When you have an induction hob, this becomes a very important and enjoyable feature. If, like me, you cook with gas, that can be nice. We cook A LOT in the slow cooker. If you're unfamiliar with slow cookers, there are many great recipes that are easy, healthy, and delicious. Also, your whole house will smell delicious after cooking a delicious recipe in your kitchen for eight hours. But sometimes slow cooker recipes start out to suit everyone's tastes and, to make matters more obvious, feel the same. No browning on the outside or any other type of cooking other than a long slow simmer that turns everything into a great tasting mush with very little texture. The Calphalon Digital Saute Slow Cooker makes it easy to use your gas or induction stovetop to brown the outside of your meat before slowly cooking it all day. You can use different menu items and recipes to start with some good recipes. We love using the slow cooker for frying. A roast is MUCH better if you brown it on the outside before slow cooking. I used to have to sear a roast in a pan and then switch to the slow cooker. Now I can just brown the roast in the slow cooker pot, then place the pot on the bottom of the slow cooker and just finish the recipe and we have a great undamaged browned roast that is soft and tender but still has texture has and taste. So is Calphalon worth the nearly $120 price difference for the average person? Probably no. But if you're a foodie or tired of the same old slow cooker recipes and can afford the difference, then yes - the Calphalon slow cooker offers advantages over a traditional slow cooker that make it a worthwhile purchase. Big. If you've spent a lot of money on your kitchen with a range hood, nice range, and cabinets, and you want your range to look like another high-end kitchen appliance, then this is looking like a million dollars, or at least $100. ! I would say it's a five star record with one star removed due to top prices making it a little less value or worth. But for the "money is no object" household that needs the best utensils and cookware, this is a great slow cooker!
