Review on 🚨 ust Hear-Me Whistle: Your Ultimate Companion for Safety and Communication by Carlos Phillips

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A bit awkward to use, but effective for short distances and areas.

I bought three sets of these whistles - one for myself and the rest for family and friends. My main purpose was to take it for a walk - in case I needed to use it in an emergency. They are blister packed and include a heavy duty nylon cord and integral belt clip. This is how I use the whistle at the moment - it gets stuck in the waistband of my jeans and stays there day after day until the jeans need a wash. In terms of whistling efficiency and ease of use, I'm a bit disappointed with both. The distance at which the whistle can be heard depends on many things, but mainly I would say in which area you use it. I walk near the main street/avenue, which is constantly passed by cars heading for the freeway. As I blew my whistle with all my might in the traffic and confusion, my friend informed me that she could hear me on the block. However, the sound of the whistle was pretty much "background noise" when it was two or three blocks away from me. I don't know if anyone in the car could have heard the whistle. The operation of the whistle also takes some getting used to. Personally, it took me a lot of "huffing" to blow on it hard enough to be heard at long range. I could whistle three times before I got tired. I don't know if I can get that many whistles if I need them in an emergency or safety situation - like if I'm panicking. Maybe it's a sign that I'm not in shape (I don't smoke, by the way), or maybe I just need a pipe with some peas in it :) In general, until I find a pipe that's the same price and easier keep blowing, this baby will keep sitting on my belt loop. A good buy and a tool to have in your emergency kit or backpack.
