Not the best, but far from the worst.

I have bought various brands of clay, grew up on Sculpey and with my adult head test for my current needs decided to try something new. I used a pasta machine to roll out multiple layers of each piece to the same size. 1 inch by 1 inch. Then I baked them individually at the right time and duration. The Sculpey and Premo brands are known for being brittle, which is why I tested them. I did a second clay burning test. Sculpi had the strongest odor, burned the fastest, and was the only one to char and leave a black film on parchment cooking paper. Premo remained flexible, Fimo was flawless in this competition, and Sculpey III was brittle even when properly cooked. As far as sculpting and conditioning goes, Sculpey was by far the easiest, but there was little difference in time and effort. Sculpey was softer so fine detail was harder to get at without letting the clay rest once you ONLY softened it enough to work with. Premo also suffers from this. My workspace still has room for everyone, but there are better putty to work with.
