Review on ⌚ Timex Waterbury Classic Chronograph 40mm Watch: Sophistication Meets Functionality by Joseph Montes

Great design, very poor quality control.

I like almost everything about this watch. Design, color, materials, brand and cost. Unfortunately though. The quartz chronograph hand does not match the indices. It may not seem like much, but as you can see from the photos, when not in use it is off center 12. The next photo comments on the next location of the "tick". None of them match the markings. In fact, none of the arrows match the labels. You can calibrate the chronograph by pulling up on the raised pusher and pressing the top pusher. This moves the large second hand one tick clockwise. However, this does not solve the problem. Poor quality control is unacceptable for around $60 watches. They even cost around $100 depending on the color scheme. This is the second one I've received and it was just as bad as the first. For a little more, you get a lot more bang for your buck with Phoibos, Loreo, or Pagani designs. Anyway, the glass, dial, case finish and bracelet are great. The mechanism is terrible. When it comes to timekeeping, stick to simple models without chronographs or complex complications.

Pros
  • 30 minute 1/20 second chronograph
Cons
  • Frequency
